| dc.description.abstract | This introductory article traverses the basic events since the outbreak of Covid-19 in China in December 2019, through its arrival in New Zealand and the nationwide lockdown and collective effort to eliminate it, up until the end of May 2020. The government acted decisively, with considerable public support and cooperation, and the overall response was therefore a success, albeit a very costly one. | |
